Add buttons to Search Requests & Decisions for Quick Export
Somehow I always make this mistake... I do a search in "Search Requests and Decisions," and scroll to the bottom to hit Quick Export, and the popup tells me that I must select at least one request to export. Well, since I'm at the bottom of the screen, I then have to scroll all the way to the top to find the checkbox to select all, and then have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find the Quick Export link again. Every time, I sigh. It seems to me that this could be solved in a number of ways:
Add a default option that if you press the Quick Export without any requests selected, that it exports all requests that were found in the search. (When I press Quick Export, I always want all items exported...)Add a checkbox to select all at the bottom of the screen.Add a Quick Export link at the top of the screen.Any of these would make my life easier.

Moved to Archive during a clean up effort in April 2024.

The default option was a great solution, BUT it seems to have disappeared from many places on the dashboard. Please bring it back. :)

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the feedback and for the explanation to others - much appreciated!
This is in production as of Oct. 20 and the 5.8.0 release.

Yay! I like it. :) To clarify for those reading: they went with option 1, to make the quick export default to "all" if none are checked. And there's a popup to ask if you really want to do this. Worked for me!

Hi Mary,
This is now in our Demo environment as part of our 5.8.0 release. It's tentatively scheduled to be released to production next Tuesday evening, October 20. If you get a chance to look at it, let me know if it meets your expectations.
Thanks,

Great! Thanks, Chris. I actually like Option 1 and 2 better, myself (1 is my favorite, but I wasn't sure if that would be more difficult).

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the suggestion (and all the comments you've added to other threads - more user feedback is great for me to have).
I do fair share of sighing when using different applications, so I understand where you're coming from. I'll have some discussions on our side and see which of these makes sense. I lean toward one of the first two - I think buttons on the top and bottom of pages add clutter and can be confusing, but that's just my opinion. Neither of these should be high-effort - most of the work will be in deciding what makes the most sense and is the least confusing for other users. Assuming we can get some internal consensus, I'll see if we can work this into one of the next few releases.
Thanks,
-chris
