Return to Search Results Button
I mentioned this in the discussions with Development Session but wanted to officially submit this idea.
When I do a search for specific criteria I get a list of search results. I usually need to make an edit to each one of those records, but after I do the first one, I can't click the back button without an Document Expired message and click on Try Again and Resend. It would be helpful to have a Return to Search Results button in the record (in the same way you have Return to Application Submitted) to save the clicks back or re-searching.
These are moved to archived during client up effort in 2024 April.

Yes please! This would be very helpful.

Hello, I second this request. The ability to return to the search results page (in my case it is usually on the organizations or request pages) would be very helpful. Thank you!

We have many organizations with the same or similar names and the ability to return to the search list would be most helpful - re-entering the same information is time consuming and frustrating.

I too think it would be immensely helpful to have a Return to Search button in the requests & decision page search results. If you need to make a change or go into one of the programs or organizations, it would be great to hit a button at the top and/or bottom of the page to return to the previous page. The back button on the browser does not work.

I've also run into this issue and would love to see a return to the search. In my case I was searching in requests & decisions for abandoned requests, some of which I then opened and changed to delete the request (as they were duplicates of submitted requests). It would have been most helpful for the search to be re-run so the newly deleted did not show up as abandoned, but I agree, I would know which ones I just changed if I was returned to the original search. Thanks for your consideration!

When using the requests & decisions, if I click into a project to view to application or follow up I get an option to "Return to Follow Ups Draft/ Submitted" but never to return to the Requests and Decision page with my search results. Is it possible to add a feature to go back to my search page? To return to the search now, I have to click my browser's back button or start my search anew

Hi Chris.
In response to the first bullet point, I usually need to make an edit in either the decision page or the application page. SO, from the request summary page I click into one of those options, make my edit and then Search Requests and Decisions again to pull up the list so I can do the same edit to the next.
In response to the second, it doesn't matter to me whether returning to the search page re-runs the search (using the same criteria) or pulls up the previous search. I can keep track of which ones I've edited if they all appear from the previous search, or know which I still need to edit by what is pulled up in a new search for the same criteria.
Thanks for the workaround tip. I'll try that for the time being.

Hi Katie,
First, thanks for submitting your idea in the new Idea Lab. Definitely appreciate that. I have my notes from the Discussions with Development sessions, but getting an item created for a broader discussion is much better.
Couple questions:
When you say you need to "make an edit to each one of those records" ... what exactly do you mean by records? Are you just changing something on the Request Summary page (the url of which starts with ...grantinterface.com/Foundation/Administration/ApplicantProcessView.asp) or do you navigate to somewhere else from there?Would it be enough to allow you to return to the search page and have the search criteria populated? Or do you want to return to the page and see the results of your prior search? Or when you return do you want the search to be re-run automatically? The reason that I ask is that depending on the actions you've taken to the record, the search results may no longer be entirely valid. For example, if you search for requests in "Application Complete" and then go in and Approve each one, the search results should really no longer include that record.Mike and I discussed this a bit, but I'll need to bring it up to the Product Team for prioritization. In the meantime, one workaround of sorts would be to right-click on the link (organization name, project name, or the view icon), then select "open in a new tab" and take whatever action you need. Then just remember to close that tab before doing anything else. Thanks again for posting your idea, and thanks in advance for your feedback,
