Make "Other" option on Checkbox questions fillable
For checkbox questions, there should be an option to add "Other" and allow the applicant to fill in a small text box

This suggestion is still very relevant, especially now that question labels are required on all forms. We used to work around this with a blank question label that just had instructions of "If you selected "other" above, please briefly describe here." Now that we can't leave question labels blank, we are having to have a bunch of new questions that are cluttering up our application.
"Other Program Location - Explain"
"Other Focus Area - Explain"
"Other Ages Served - Explain"
"Other Localities Served - Explain" -

Is this still being considered/worked on? It would eliminate many additional questions for the applicant and reporting easier for admins.

My response is the same as this one. It would be great to have this feature on both radio buttons and check boxes. Thank you!
"For those radio button and checkbox lists where we've included "Other", what we currently have is Other as the data in the checkbox field, then another field containing the user's response to the question "if you checked Other in the question above, please provide detail here". We'd prefer a single cell with "Other: text response".

We would definitely use this feature. Like many other commenters, we're adding extra questions to capture this data. "Other: text response in one cell" would be preferable for how we report on this.

Other with the text response in the same cell.

So happy to see this getting traction! Other with a text area would be perfect. Most of ours are a radio button and the next question is "If you chose other, please explain here."

My preference would be for other with the text response in the same cell.

Thanks for looking into this. It would eliminate extra questions throughout applications.
Prefer a single cell with "Other: text response".

Other: text response would absolutely suit our needs; if possible, I'd love to see this functionality on both radials and checkboxes. Use case for checkboxes is that our organization covers a 5-county area, and many of our funded organizations cover multiple counties plus counties not in our service area. Having an applicant check Allegheny and Fayette counties, and then Other: Greene county would allow us to refer them to funding opportunities in Greene county as well.

Sammie,
It's very exciting to see this is being considered. For our purposes, having "other: text response" in one cell would be ideal.

This would be very useful for us as well. Currently we have the next question "If other, please explain." We would prefer to see the text they entered in a report rather than just seeing Other, because then we would have to open all of the applications that had said Other to determine what their actual response was.
