Delay Access to 1st Assigned Follow Up until Grant Status is APPROVED.
We need to assign reporting dates/payment dates in the system at least two weeks prior to our board approval in order to generate our grant letters. Currently, when we do this, we have the option to set a time period in settings to say, 14 days later before the grantee sees the grant as approved - it shows as UNDECIDED until those 14 days are up, even though the grantee can see the follow ups. That's great, but grantees are now logging in and completing the 1st follow up (for us the grant terms acceptance), even though the grant is still undecided. Please make it so that no follow ups can be accessed until the grant status is actually approved.

I think its confusing to assign the Follow Up when you approve the grant and the default is checked to do this. I'd like to have Foundant change that for my Foundation.
ALSO make the "Edit" under Follow-Up larger font or more visible. Organizations often call because they can't find it. -

This is a manual workaround but thought it might be helpful for others. We are now using the Hide/Show request feature for that short period where we want to assign a grant contract and create other documents but do not wan the grantee to have access yet. As soon as we approve something, we use Hide, create all of our documents, route internally for approval, etc. and then just show it again once we send the award letter.

Don't Show Grantees Follow Ups When a Grant is Still Technically "Undecided" We know prior to our board meeting what grants will be approved. It's helpful to be able to approve the grant weeks before the actual meeting so we can generate the letters and other documents that are populated with the payment dates/amounts and follow-ups. We've learned that, for example, we can award a grant and use the date of the board meeting as the decision date. By doing this, when the applicant sees the information in their dashboard, it still shows as "undecided." However, even though it says undecided, they are able to see all of the follow-ups assigned for that particular grant. Is there a way to prevent this information from showing until the date the grant appears as approved?

We like to send out our award letters via snail mail and we want that letter to be the first thing the org receives from us. It would be so nice if there was an option to delay the auto email that is sent when a follow up is assigned. We typically write the checks and process the grants in Foundant within a few days after they are approved/denied and while I love the ability to assign follow ups so easily, I had to turn off the auto emails because they would get the emails telling them they had a due date for a follow up report before they received the award letter. I would love to tell the grantees they were awarded a grant via email, however, our Board is old school and wants the grantees to get the letter and check first.

I agree this would be helpful. We have grantees who have the same programs every year. When they fill out the follow-up form, they just grab the first one they see, not necessarily the one with the correct date.

It would be helpful if there was an option to "hide" assigned follow ups until a certain date. This option is available in regard to approving and denying grants when you can set a time frame before which the applicant is unable to view the decision. It would make things a lot easier if the option were also available in regard to assigning follow ups.

This is a really smart catch and I'm glad to know about it since we are getting ready to incorporate the auto-followups in our grants. The delay is definitely still necessary for our applications so we would want to see the delay honored and decisions/followups not visible until after.

We appreciate the option of a 1-day delay for approved grants (from decision date entered during the approval, to the date that the applicant sees the grant). However, I just learned from Foundant tech support that if a follow-up is attached to the grant, the grant shows immediately, not 1 day after the decision date.
When we approve a grant, it automatically gets a contract
as the first follow-up, so this obliterates the 1-day delay. I would love to see this altered so that even with a follow-up attached, the grant would not show until 1 day after the decision date. -

We like to get all of our information entered for each grant before our board meets on a specific date. We use the board date for the date the grants were approved. We try to be proactive and get all of our info entered at one time for each grant that was awarded...including the follow-ups. When we do this, the follow-ups show up and the grant decision is "undecided". Would love a way to "post date" the appearance of the follow-ups until the date that the grant was approved.
