attachment to instructions
ATTACHMENT TO A QUESTION AS INSTRUCTION or EXAMPLE:
It is not uncommon for us to receive incorrect documents, such as the attachment for a copy of the EIN # or 501(c)3 paperwork issued by the IRS. We believe our instructions are very clear, but we OFTEN receive an organization's STATE Sales Tax Exemption forms or some other document.
It would be helpful if there was a way to have an attachment within a question or instructions, which would allow us to show a sample of the exact type documentation we require.

You can do this by using the insert hyperlink feature to the sample document in the instructions section of the File Upload question. To do this you have to have a hyperlink(s) associated with the sample document(s) which you can do by either utilizing some type of cloud file management system (i.e. Dropbox, Google Docs, etc.) OR using the Shared Documents feature in SLM. I use the Shared Documents features right now because I don't use Shared Documents for anything else right now and I don't have that many different documents yet. Use this feature with caution though because the hyperlinks can get unlinked, but I honestly have only ever had issues with a couple pictures that I use this feature for. So I wouldn't recommend using this for photos, but I have found it works for PDF's, Excel files and word documents.
1. Get Hyperlink of Example Document(s)
a. If you use Shared Documents, right click the hyperlink under the Name column and select "Copy address link."
b. If you use Dropbox/Google Docs, get the appropriate hyperlink attached to that file.
2. Click pencil icon next to that specific question to make edits.
3. Insert Hyperlink
a. Highlight the specific text you want to attach example document. I usually just highlight the name of the document and include in the instructions to view/download the sample/template.
i.e. For "Download this Activities Sheet Template" Instruction, I would highlight just the Activities Sheet Template as the hyperlink will change the color and format of the text so it easily stands out.
b. Click Insert Hyperlink or hold Ctrl+K to get the hyperlink popup box.
c. Copy the link into the URL field. The text field populates with the words you highlighted.
d. Click Insert.
4. Click Insert. The text color will change and an underline will appear when you hover over it.
5. Save Question then test to make sure it works.I haven't utilized this too much since it was our first year using GLM/SLM, but I am looking for ways to incorporate this more so that documents that are submitted are more uniform.
