December 2023 Theme Release Feedback
Hi All,
On December 6th, 2023 we updated the theme/general styling of GLM/SLM. We hope you all are enjoying these shifts in design, but in our commitment to continual improvement, we wanted to create a space where feedback could be collected. As you adopt the new look and feel, please use this idea to help continue to iterate with your feedback.
Best,
Sammie
Just wanted to let you know we are continue to review feedback posted here and will continue to keep you updated.

Many of our grantees are confused because the characters over notification is no longer red. They receive an error message when trying to submit letting them know they have exceeded the character limitations. But then they can't find the associated questions so they don't know what to fix. It was clearer previously when the character count changed color.

Is it possible for the banner to not be in a fixed position when scrolling? When conducting evaluations, the banner takes up 1/3 of the screen. It'd be great if it wasn't fixed so we can view more of the applications.

We used to get a warning that an org we are looking at is a dup org-throughout the process-LOI and app Review. It would be outlined in red. Now, we randomly will not get the warning, or the warning blends into the form, so it's harder to catch. We think this started after the theme release.
Thank you for trying to make our world better here in Foundant!

I agree that the font is sometimes hard to read, especially when in a lighter color, as in the header bar ("search", "tools", etc)
ETA: after continued use, I'm finding the theme really frustrating to deal with - the header are so light a blue that they're hard to see, and there's a lot of white lettering on a pale colored background that's also really hard to see.

On the Documents tab, the "Upload a File" button used to be on the right, above "Close Request". It recently got moved to the left side, which is less intuitive, and has resulted in me accidentally clicking the "Close Request" button instead because I'm used to the button being on the right side. Any chance we could move it back? It feels like I need to move my mouse more now, and often this task is repetitive (I'm uploading multiple files, each one individually).
Thank you!

In the new look, it is a little bit difficult to tell if we have made the comments public to the applicant. There used to be a blue line/highlight which was very very helpful.
Also, we've had another complaint for a while now, but, when you are typing in the administrator comments box, you can't move the box so you can read what is behind it. This is also incredibly unhelpful and frustrating.

For me, the font in the menu bar (Search/Tools/Comms) and the page titles is particularly hard to read. Since some functions are dependent on the page (Follow Up, e.g.), having the page name be very obvious at the top left would be a big improvement.

Thank you for continuing to update Foundant, I appreciate your work!
The members of my team have noted that this recent theme update has made working in the interface more difficult to use and hard to read, and they prefer the style of Foundant before the update.
The weight of the font is very light, rather than the bold/thick weight of the previous font. The font is difficult to read and feels like the page is still loading (ie waiting for the words to become more clearly visible).
The light blue on grey in forms is a very low contrast creating a less smooth distinction between sections.
On the Dashboard, there is no longer an option to click into tabs that are empty, which is a function I formally used regularly. Finally, for Foundant to maintain accessibility standards, all linked text would need to have two indicators (the text is blue and underlined, for example - having the text only underline when you hover over the text causes text readers to miss the links).
Thank you for providing space for feedback.

I am also for continued improvement, but this makes reading very difficult. The font size is not consistent and the lighter coloring also makes it more difficult to read. Personally, I liked it better before the change.

I'm all for updates and appreciate how Foundant always stays on top of these to find better and better updates!
However, this change doesn't seem quite complete. The font sizing seems off. Headings are smaller than some of the blocks in applications. (One reviewer noted that it looks similar to Comic Sans.)
Each block area doesn't have the same distinction as it did before so it isn't as seamless to review section by section.
The header block now cuts off the bottom of our logo.
