Yearly Tax Receipt Formatting Issues
The table that is created with the yearly tax receipt is not formatted correctly and needs to be fixed.
1 - The total amount is not formatted in the same way as the donation line amounts. If the donation amount is an even dollar amount, then .00 will print for the cents. If the total amount is an even dollar amount, then no cents print.
2 - When a dollar sign is added to the template, then a dollar sign prints on every line of the table even when no number is present. Therefore a $ prints on blank lines.
See the attached file for illustration.
Our staff has to manually correct the formatting issues on hundreds of yearly tax receipts in order to have proper presentation to our donors.
I confirmed with Foundant Support/Success teams that there is currently no way to fix these formatting issues. We need your VOTE for change!!
Because this issue can be fixed within the template, this idea is being archived. Thank you.

Hi Ann! I'm a Foundant team member and I came across this item as I was looking for another tax receipt enhancement idea. One thing you might try to address this issue: any time you have a field with a dollar amount in a template, if you use the formatted merge field below, Word will nicely format that amount field as a dollar amount (AND, by using this you shouldn't get those blank lines with dollar amounts... this should work to format the "total" amount consistently with amounts above, too). Just substitute the word "amount" below with the related merge field as needed to have Word auto format those fields.
{{amount \# $#,0.00;($#,0.00)}}
