File Organization in Donor Portal
It would be nice to have the option to transfer/share the File Categories to the Fund/Donor Portal and be able to sort them as needed. ie. We share Thank you letters with some Advisors, by uploading and selecting the proper category in CSuite, it could sync over the Category and file to the files tab in the portal. This option would also make it easier to view for Fund Advisors.
Due to the release of the Portal in the sandbox (August in Live sites), requests related to the legacy fund advisor system are being moved to not planned. Foundant plans to sunset the legacy fund advisor portal on 4/1/2025.

Yes, the files section has the potential to get very cluttered and not having this function is prohibitive to us to implement it robustly.

The files section gets so messy! And it makes donors scroll through all of the documents to find what they want. For bonus points, it’d be great if the document name could be customized in Files; what shows is what the file is named on our system drives, which often isn’t really front-facing.

Really would love to see this implemented as those files are going to keep growing and this will enhance donor services.

Coming from FIMS, this is one of the things that is most missed!! With the volumes of documents for some funds, profiles and grants, categories just aren't enough.

There is no folder capability in the Portal, so using the description as a sort is a work around. Unfortunately, the description only works to a point, as it is by time of upload vs the description. Unfortunately with files with a lot of activity, it will become unusable quickly.

It would be great if the same categorization that we use for our funds can also be shown in the client portal files tab for shared documents.
This would help the files tab become way more useful and easy to understand instead of a long list.

Agreed. The new file category organization is nice, but a major goal for the Hartford Foundation Development Team is for fund advisors to see a nice clean donor portal with folders. We thought with the latest release notes and referencing the how-to that this was possible and it was disappointing to find out this was not the case : (

I vote for this request 200%! This is super important - the portal is cumbersome due to our inability to organize donor documents and it is only a matter of time before our donors complain. At this point, we may cease uploading documents until it is resolved. Many thanks!

I agree this would be super helpful. After three years of having CSuite and uploading letters some funds have well over 100 documents that are unmanageable for them to find. I also agree that we should be able to edit the file name after the fact. There could be a typo or we could have changed how we label files. It makes it hard for consistency reasons to have not delete a file, then reupload and rename.

It would also be helpful to be able to edit the file description field after the file has been uploaded.

Coming from the FIMS world, this is something that our foundation truly misses. It was very convenient to have a link to all our of files (especially historic information before going digital) each individual fund.

Would it be possible to add the ability to have folders for funds and within the Donor Portal? We are finding the ability to add files useful, but having the ability to organize files into folders would be more efficient and make the files easier to find. Thanks!
