Donation Tax Receipts Permission Should Control Creating a Tax Receipt
Currently, the Tax Receipts permission under Donations allows the user to process tax receipts in bulk. It does NOT control whether someone can create a new tax receipt for individual donations.
Support explained that -- “The permission to generate a tax receipt is tied to the Display permission; if you can view a donation, you can generate a tax receipt. Specifically, the Tax Receipt permission is the ability to generate tax receipts in bulk (in the donations page), and marking them as sent."
We allow several on our staff to see Donor donation history and Donation records, but we do not want them to be able to generate Tax Receipts, especially not Tax Receipts that can be downloaded into Word and edited.
Please move the ability to print a tax receipt on individual donation records under the Tax Receipts permission.

This is a problem throughout the system! Display and Edit permissions in a number of areas allow for Create functions where that permission is specifically NOT given.

I agree that this change would provide needed permissions related to tax receipts.
