  1. It would be nice if Universes were ordered alphabetically or if administrators could drag/drop to order. You can drag/drop Processes to order them, but not Universes. Universes show in the order in which they were built, which doesn't make much sense when an applicant scrolls down the page.

  2. There appears to be unnecessary spacing added below the instruction field when building an application or other form. I suggest removing this formatting so instructions appear more naturally grouped with the relevant questions. If the additional spacing is necessary, I suppose we could add that in by adding a blank question field.

  3. If an organization has multiple users, and user A creates a request, as the product works currently user B can NOT copy over that data when they enter a new application. I'm requesting that all users be able to copy data from all existing requests for an organization no matter who created the request.

  4. I find the language on the Universe confirmation page confusing. It says the applicant is eligible for the following opportunities, it's not 100% clear that the applicant must continue to apply. I'd suggest moving the blue "Continue" button to the top, or changing the message to read: "Based on your answers, you may apply for the scholarships listed below. Click the blue Continue button at the bottom of the page to complete the applications."

  5. So I'm working on YR 2 for our UA. Making edits and trying to get a better handle on it all. I'm in now as an applicant. We have sections of questions: shared by all of the scholarships, shared by some of them, and then ones that are only for one scholarship. Question groups are collapsible, right? Going on the scenario that a kid is eligible for several, wouldn't it be good for those shared question sections that they've already completed to be hidden or collapsed? Now I'm old, but it seems clunky and confusing to even have them there…

  6. From what I can tell, there is no way to indicate if a request is from an organization that was merged into another organization or if it was originally from the final organization. Currently, for applicant funding history (which we provide in a Merge Document) to our grant reviewers, we have to manually go through each request and figure out which was for Org A and which was for Org B. If our current staff ever leave, this knowledge will be lost or buried in the Comments tab. Is there a simple way to see this?

  7. The ability to turn off the 'preview' button (per process) on the public apply page would be helpful. If the Eligibility phase is being used or if the application form in a process has a lot of branching, the preview does not accurately represent the application requirements.

Alternatively, it'd be great to be able to insert a custom link so that users are taken to an informational page/pdf when they click the preview button.

  8. Our applications typically require a lot of uploads. They also have a lot of conditional logic. For instance, if someone is applying for a smaller amount of money, we ask for less financial documents, It would be nice if the allotment for file size allowance per application took the conditional logic into account instead of making it all cumulative. We bump into the issue of not having enough file size space in our applications all the time, and often steal a megabyte or two from one upload field to accommodate another, only to need to steal from somewhere else, etc.

  9. it's great that within an organization, everyone can view all of the applications that were submitted. Unfortunately, they can not see the followups. this is a challenge when a new person takes over a project and they don't use the same account. as well the primary contact which is usually the executive director can not even see the followups to know if they have been complete or what was shared. this would be so helpful for our non-profits so they can easily share application and followups... thanks

  10. As well as using Foundant GLM as an Administrator, I use it as an applicant. Several of the foundations I apply to use Foundant, which is great. One thing I don't like is the Applicant's Dashboard page. One community foundation in the area is the "mother" to 12 others, and I have applied to 6 of these as well as the "mother" foundation. My dashboard is a cluttered mess of applications in several different stages. Yes, they are arranged in order of application date, but that's the only organization there is. I only have 1 year's worth of applications (11…

  11. I would like to see a bigger space between multiple processes that are open on the "Apply" page. Currently, there is a tiny space between each process' "box", and our applicants frequently click the first blue "Apply" button they see.... which is often for the process below the one for which they actually want to apply. We have instructions saying to click the button at the top-right of the box but we all know people don't read well. If there was greater differentiation between the list of open grants then applicants may scroll back up to the correct Apply button.

  12. We delay our grantees' ability to see the decision on their application by 14 days. This was set up for us by Foundant. We upload their approval/denial letters into their request documents at the time of the decision, but do not want the grantees to see the letters until after the 14 day period when both the decision and the letter should become simultaneously visible to them. At this point in time, we have only two choices - to never allow the applicant to see their approval/denial letters in their Request Documents, or to wait before posting the letters to…

  13. From what I can tell, applicants are unable to delete application drafts. I realize as admin we can delete drafts but I am wondering if applicants would delete drafts is they were able to. We have many draft applications that seem to be abandoned. I was going to make a practice of deleting draft applications once a year so they don't pile up. I wonder what other do

  14. We have had instances where we are reaching out to 3rd party requests (specifically with LOR) and they refuse to submit a letter on the student's behalf. Would it be possible or beneficial for there to be a decline option in the automated email so the student can find someone else? And yes, we do include strong language to encourage students to talk with teachers/counselors they would like to have submit a letter of recommendation on their behalf.

  15. In the eligibility quiz in GLM, the ability to customize a "passing" message like you can customize a "failure" message would be beneficial to make things very clear to applicants that they can move on to the application stage. We had a few organizations last cycle that passed the eligibility quiz but it wasn't entirely clear to them that they were allowed to move onto the next step in the application process.

  16. Several applicants have asked how to add hyperlinks to their applications. Please allow hyperlinks on future applications. There is often a character or word count limit for open calls (due to the high submission numbers) and hyperlinks are an invaluable tool for applicants.

  17. Our Foundation supports a nonprofit healthcare system. Our Foundations grant both internally to departments to better the patient experience and externally to nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve. Therefore, we have to have an external application process and an internal application process. Multiple times this year, I had applicants moving too fast and not reading which application they were clicking the "Apply" button for and even though the questions weren't making sense, just kept going and submitting. That created a lot of rework for both our operations team and the applicant to copy the content over to the correct…

  18. When using a UA, those first common questions are really for eligibility, at least the way we are using it. So when the potential applicants get to the confirmation page, for either the failure message or to see what scholarships they are eligible for, it says your application has been submitted, but really, it hasn't. They are, at that point, ready to enter the application and its questions. Can there be some terminology changes set for the first stage? I make it clear in my instructions what's to happen, but an applicant as you define it shouldn't really be one…

  19. An applicant recently told me of a challenge when working on multiple applications for different funders at the same time which all use the Foundant GLM system. Apparently you can't do it. You have to open a different browser or open private browser windows to login to more than one funder. It would be helpful to enable applicants to be able to login to more than one funder as they can copy/paste information that can be used in multiple applications more easily.

  20. It would be great if... there was an alert for applicants notifying them that they have an active grant. With a few exceptions, we do not allow organizations to have more than one active grant (per program) at a time. Recently, I had a couple applicants submit applications who already had active grants. I did not know they had active grants until I looked at each organization's history. It would be great if the active grant was highlighted on their dashboard or they received an alert when applying for a grant notifying them that they had an active grant. This…
