  1. Perhaps we leave an inordinate amount of comments (?) but it is driving me crazy that I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to hit the Add Comment button. Can that show up at the top instead.

Thank you for all your attention.

  2. We use the Administrator Comments feature to provide draft review feedback to our applicants. Many applicants use the comments, then want us to remove them so that they can create a clean PDF of their completed application. We don't want to delete our comments as that is part of the grant process record, but we also don't want reviewers to be able to see the comments. Right now, our only option is to make all the comments not visible to applicants, proxy as the applicant, download the PDF, then make all the comments visible to the applicant again. This is…

  3. I've seen a couple of posts about this already, but not sure that it was articulated in this way. It's scholarship season and students are stressed out trying to submit their applications and get teachers to complete their letters of recommendation. I was really surprised to learn there currently isn't any formal notification that gets sent when a teacher completes their 3rd party letter of recommendation in SLM. Teachers would benefit knowing their work was properly received. Students want to know they don't have to worry about this or nag their teacher to do this, and admins want to know…

  4. We have 20+ scholarships that want applicant names suppressed from applications in the evaluation process. We have always had the student fill out the "Project Name" field with their name. This year, we had everything setup to suppress applicant details from the evaluators, but did not realize that the "Project Name" cannot be suppressed. We had to manually go in and change every student's name to a code in the Project Name field.

Short of instructing students in the future to not use their name as the project name field, is there any chance the Project Name field could also…

  5. Asking an applicant to compose an email to their anonymous third party is an extra step that overcomplicates things. The applicant has to deal with opening up an email interface, copy-pasting a pre-written message, etc. And for what? It's redundant to send the third party an email explaining that they'll be getting another email.

It should work like references on a resume. Provide us with the third party's email address, and we'll contact them ourselves. Simple as.

  6. We have three SLM UA's that students can apply to and as it currently appears on a student's dashboard, all UA's are in the color blue. Is there a way that each UA has their own color. This will help with an inclusivity for color blindness.

  7. Would really like the system to produce QR codes that they could use to direct scholarship applicants and applicants applying for hardship grants to a specific application.

  8. There is a red circle with a backslash icon that appears when applicants try to copy and paste from their LOI to Proposal Application. This icon confuses Applicants because they are in fact able to copy and paste.

I am getting several emails from applicants who don't understand they can still copy and paste. Please delete the confusing red circle backslash icon.

  9. In the eligibility quiz in GLM, the ability to customize a "passing" message like you can customize a "failure" message would be beneficial to make things very clear to applicants that they can move on to the application stage. We had a few organizations last cycle that passed the eligibility quiz but it wasn't entirely clear to them that they were allowed to move onto the next step in the application process.

  10. A Chat feature to be able to help students in the moment could be very helpful.

Student behavior - Once they leave an application it is hard to get them back to finish it. Students are used to using a CHAT feature when they need help. They often won't pick up a phone for help & are hesitant to send emails.

I would rather help them in the moment then spend time on my Dashboard figuring out why they have some applications in draft, some in submitted and emailing them how to keep going. (Students often don't read emails)

    It…

  11. Several applicants have asked how to add hyperlinks to their applications. Please allow hyperlinks on future applications. There is often a character or word count limit for open calls (due to the high submission numbers) and hyperlinks are an invaluable tool for applicants.

  12. Our Foundation supports a nonprofit healthcare system. Our Foundations grant both internally to departments to better the patient experience and externally to nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve. Therefore, we have to have an external application process and an internal application process. Multiple times this year, I had applicants moving too fast and not reading which application they were clicking the "Apply" button for and even though the questions weren't making sense, just kept going and submitting. That created a lot of rework for both our operations team and the applicant to copy the content over to the correct…

  13. From what I can tell, there is no way to indicate if a request is from an organization that was merged into another organization or if it was originally from the final organization. Currently, for applicant funding history (which we provide in a Merge Document) to our grant reviewers, we have to manually go through each request and figure out which was for Org A and which was for Org B. If our current staff ever leave, this knowledge will be lost or buried in the Comments tab. Is there a simple way to see this?

  14. LOI - generally called a Letter of Intent - we call it a Letter of Introduction. It's kind of an 'elevator speech' for applicants where we get a snapshot of some financial needs (we ask for up to 3). We use is as a guide and have a phone conversation with the applicant once the LOI is submitted. depending on our yearly goals, we may pass on this applicant for the year, but want to keep them for the next year.

It would be great to have a 'stand-alone' LOI that can be branched to an application at another date…

  15. Please remove restrictions on "Add User" information fields!! Only allowing certain formats for phones/addresses/postal codes restricts inputting accurate information. (Can't input extensions for phone numbers, international phone numbers, international addresses.)

  16. It would be nice to have a 'phone number' question type to select when creating an application so that the applicant doesn't have to worry about how to format their phone number when entering it. Something like --xxxx would be great so that every phone number entry followed the same formating.

  17. It would be helpful to allow applicants to add rows/columns to tables in the event they need more space than we have built out. The function would need to be made so that the admin could lock rows and columns if needed so that the applicant cannot add fields outside of summary rows, for example.

  18. Currently, for active processes, there are three visibility options: Public, Restricted, and Internal.

Public: Visible to applicants; applicants able to apply when open
    Internal: Not visible to applicants
Restricted: Only visible to applicants with the corresponding access code

Based on the use of our applicants & grantees, I would love to see a fourth option added that would allow a process to be visible to applicants, but locked, so that applicants would need an access code to apply. Essentially a restricted visibility where the applicants could still view the process as if it were public, but still requiring a code.

  19. View for students needs updating. We previously used a different software. Each section (family, academics, essays, etc.) had it's own customizable icon with a picture and a progress bar to show what % of that section was completed. SLM UA looks so daunting for students.

  20. It would be really useful if the Copy Previous Answers function worked for all requests under an Organizational profile instead of just the specific User profile. This would be helpful for some of our organizations who experience high turnover or for folks who are applying when other colleagues are on leave.
