Add Online Donation Description to the Description Field not Notes FIeld
Currently, when a donor adds a donation description to a Stripe donation it is housed as a note. It would be nice if the description was plugged into the "Description" field (currently description is "Online Donation") so the Fund Advisor can see all donation designations from the portal, and the tax receipt pulls the donation description field
7/3/2024: Added a new field to the donation record, Donation Comment. If a donor enters a Donation Comment(s), this field will auto-populate onto the donation record. Donation Comment is located on a donation record above the Custom Message field. This new field was added to improve workflows for users when processing donations, and eliminate the need for copying notes into the donation record.
Templates: Donation Comment merge field, {{donation_comment}}, is available on Tax Receipts and Tribute Letters.
Reports: Donation Comment has also been added as an option to Donation Custom Reports in the Donation Fields area. A note created on a Donation can be reported on Donation Notes or a custom Note report.
No Permission Changes with this release.

I would prefer the notes field be visible instead on the fund advisor portal for gifts. We have been using description for internal notes and for template information since 2017 and having those visible to fund advisors is not ideal.

Agreed! Fund advisors shouldn't have to email the foundation staff and ask for an export to learn about donation designations.

I am currently running into this issue with a memorial golf scramble. Donors are paying for their golf/team/hole sponsorship registration through stripe payments. The donor comments in their donation what they are purchasing, however the Fund Advisor is not able to see this description. It is up to our staff to manually look into each gift, copy the notes into the description field and notify the fund advisor. Very time consuming!

Yes, please! We have several fiscally sponsored funds that want to be able to see for what purpose a donation was made. This would be incredibly helpful and save time on both the fund reps' and community foundation's end.
