Closed Funds - Displaying Activity on the Portal
We really would appreciate the ability to show closed fund activity on the portal. It’s often extremely important for our donors to see historical information, even when a fund is no longer being used. If closed funds can’t be shown there, could CSuite provide an ability to merge Funds, similar to the ability to merge Profiles?
Let me provide a little background: Our foundation’s process is to close a fund when the type of the fund changes (i.e. passthrough to endowed). Being able to show the history of the gifts/grants in the fund advisor portal would allow our fund holders to see a comprehensive history of not only the current fund, but the previous fund & its history as well. It offers a more comprehensive view into the entire activity. Otherwise, Foundation Staff have to repeatedly run reports for fund holders providing the history of the closed fund. These reports have to be uploaded to profiles & the new fund record to make it visible in some way to the fund holder. It is an additional manual step that can be overlooked & could be prone to errors. Our organization as a whole is striving to have all of our fund holders engaged with the portal to the fullest extent possible. This would continue to build on that, allowing them to be fully self-sufficient in reviewing all of the data for all of the funds they have been associated with, past & present.

This is a functionality we would appreciate. Donors often also like to see a history of who they've given to and in an old portal before we converted to Csuite they were able to access their old fund. Often times folk are converting to a new fund and its unfortunate that the lose all their history because it is closed. We use a workaround with a custom field, renaming the fund, and keeping it open, but then we have to remember to filter out with our custom fields and it keeps our lists of funds not accurate.

Please consider implementing this. We recently transitioned several supporting org funds into nonprofit endowments. The funds we closed have history going back decades in some situations. We no longer have the legal burden of servicing the supporting orgs, but this situation creates another type of burden.
