Multiple Donation Entry

Would be FANTASTIC to be able to enter a batch of donations, review them on a report and post as a batch, rather than having to post after each donation ( to create a deposit in the till )

See the release note from 6/1/2022. This enhancement moves Donations to the bucket concept with filters. There are now buckets for New, Posted, Receipt and Tribute. A donation could be list in multiple buckets depending on the posted status and whether or not a tax receipt or tribute letter is needed. In order to help identify profile duplicates and staff review, there is a new bucket option available in Donations>Setting to create a Review bucket. Filters have been added to all buckets to allow a User to filter to a batch of donations for posting.

We are currently working on how we would handle this. It would look something like the Fund Bulk Edit feature, but not all fields on the donation would be available in a bulk entry (mostly due to screen space and going vertical instead of horizontal). Seems like key fields would be donor, fund, amount, donation type (if using them), Thank You Needed, Payment Method, Check Number and Description. Then others could be set by going back to the donation once created (anonymous, custom message, etc.).

Another option we are considering is basically a “Create Mode” where you stay in the regular donation entry screen until pressing a “Finished” or “Exit Create” link on the left. This would give you all fields but would be a slower entry process.

Any preferences?

How wonderful to be given ideas on how this could work - I think the best option for our office would be the first one, Fund Bulk Edit Feature, as it is most efficient in terms of data entry and really covers all of the bases we would typically use!
