Tax Receipt Templates - First name field for salutation
The salutation field for many of our donations is populating with the donor's first and last name (Dear Jim Smith). This appears to be primarily online donations through Stripe. When a new profile is created and it does not have a salutation, the system pulls the entire name (first last) into the salutation field. We would prefer to have just the first name. This could be achieved by allowing the use of the first name field in a template, or by giving the option to automatically populate the salutation field with just the donor's first name.
9/4/2024:Templates: Updated Tax Receipt Templates to include the following fields: Site EIN, Grantee Name, Ticket fields in foreach ticket loop-created, decription, edit_id, qty, ref_id, total and total units, Soft Credit, Non-notify tribute name, Donor First Name, Donor Last Name, Pledge ID, Fund Group, Fund Subgroup, Fund Division, Fund Segment, and Campaign fields: campaign date, campaign description, campaign location, campaign start time.

From Support today: "Within CSuite, if Salutation is left blank, the Mailing Label will appear in its place. If the Mailing Label is also blank, the prefix, first name, and last name will appear (for organizations this would just be Organization Name).
This results in a Salutation field that is never truly blank."This is not how fields should work, especially if this causes the fields to not behave correctly in conditional fields (i.e. a blank Salutation is never truly blank?!?! That's crazy talk.)
Why can't all fields be pulled as they are (including prefix, first, and last name) and be available for use in CSuite templates appropriately?

The recognition name will also be the full name, and for a different purpose as Tiffany mentioned. I was hoping that the online donation fields could have separation (First name / Last name ) so the salutation (or first name field) would populate in the letter template since the tax receipt is automatic. I realize that I could set the letters to be manual and clean up the newly populated profile fields first, however this requires extra time and steps. Depending on the amount of donations that come in, some days more than others. Our preference would be to post & acknowledge in one transaction! Any chance this is still a future option????

That recognition field would be how the donor would like to be recognized in publications. I am not sure how others are using it, but I assume that's the standard based on what it's named. It would still be a "Mr. & Mrs. John Doe" or "ABC Corporation". In our case, it would never be just a first name.
