Enable new donor portal = disable legacy portal
We would love to have the option to disable the legacy portal when we enable the New Donor Portal. There are many issues with both of them being live at the same time, including how the content for the Portal maps to both portals. We put detailed instructions for fundholders in the content area and now the Legacy portal is incredibly unprofessional because the instructions are wrong. While we hope none of our fundholders navigate to the Legacy portal, we suspect many of them have the URL bookmarked on their computer. It's not a good look for us and we can't change it.
Bonus if CSuite would somehow convert the URLs of the Legacy portal to the new Donor Portal. We had to update an incredible number of pages on our website. However, the Giving Hub link didn't need to be updated because when we enabled the Giving Hub, it appeared to have automatically updated. I believe this happens with the Donation Portal --> Giving Hub conversion.
- 10/25/2024: Portal Options-Portal Settings: Added a Redirect Legacy Fundadvisor Portal Login option on the Settings table. This will allow organizations the flexibility to work setup of the Portal and redirect the fund advisors to the new login when they are ready to start using the new Portal pages.

Yes to both disabling the old and converting the URL.

This is important, how do we keep our fundholders out of the legacy portal if they have kept links of their own, bookmarked or an old email? It would be even better if when we are ready to migration we contact support and they could set up a redirect of our old url to the new one? Not sure if that is something you can do, I know we do it for website pages within the designer.

Strongly agree with the notion of this idea - a redirect link or some kind of functionality that disengages the legacy portal once the new portal is activated, is something that seems like a typical step for this kind of transition and should be built in and not voted on. As Laurel rightfully points out , while we will do our best to educate, the reality is most advisors will go to the old portal out of habit, and it’s not a good look to our clients if public if they can still access information in a way that isn’t supported by the CF anymore.

We were surprised (maybe even shocked) that the legacy portal couldn't be disabled when we turned on the new Donor Portal. Why would we want to have two portals running in parallel? Please give us the option to avoid confusion and have a more smooth transition by enabling us to turn off the legacy portal.

This would be enormously helpful in avoiding any confusion for our fundholders!
