Campaigns - Remove "is donor" designation to profiles invited to a campaign
When profiles are added to campaigns, they are automatically assigned the "Profile is" designation of "donor." This is not true. Some invitees might be grantees or prospects. As a result the designation of donor becomes useless as a sorting field for segmenting profiles in reports. Please disconnect that default or allow for us to remove the "is donor" tag without having to also remove a profile from a campaign.

It would be very helpful to not tag the profile as donor when they are invited to a campaign. It would also be helpful to be able to untag a profile from being a donor if they have not donated in the future, but were tagged as a donor via campaigns.

As someone else mentioned, this is about the integrity of the data, which is compromised if it contains an error of fact like assigning someone the attribute of "donor" when there is no giving history. It's not just about "running a report of people who have giving history." I'm grateful other users are campaigning for this as well. We are starting to just work outside of Csuite for building our marketing lists. Clogging up our data with errors is not worth it.

This is very true. We have not fully migrated as of yet, but are already seeing the issues mounting up if this is the only route? I agree the campaign should be connected to profile, not the donor. We would also be using it mostly for mailing lists, in addition to events, however, not everyone is a donor and should not automatically be made a donor. We are having the same worries with online gifts automatically creating a profile, which will in turn cause multiple duplicate profiles!

This is so true! It would really be more useful if the campaign was connected to the actual profile, not the donor record. That way we could see who was invited but didn't attend or who received a mailing even if they haven't given. Being invited to a campaign shouldn't automatically making someone a "donor".
