Please consider the term "Portal Access" rather than "Fund Advisor" as a "Designation"
Please consider the term "Portal Access" rather than "Fund Advisor," as a great many individuals in the system have access to a fund portal but are not what we would consider a "fund advisor." They have no advising capability but can view tabs in the portal. The term "Portal Access" covers so many more situations and is much less confusing, even internally.
8/7/2024: Please see the Support articles about the updates to the Portal, including fund advisor fund management: https://support.foundant.com/hc/en-us/articles/21412855474199-Portal

Our fund Interested Parties (sometimes referred to as fund representatives) need view access to the portal but are not fund advisors. The only way to give them portal access is to give them 'Fund Advisor' designation. This is misleading. Please revise this designation name or add another for fund relationships, other than advisors, who need to be given portal access.

Great idea! So confusing otherwise for those with access.

This is not the same for us... We have profiles that we associate to the fund but do not have portal access.
