Improved Grant Catalog Capabilities
We are in the process of launching our first grant catalog. We have carefully curated the catalog, retitling it the Giving Gallery and selecting a diverse range of requests. We are eager to share this opportunity with our donors and larger community. However we have a few notes for consideration.
When a fund advisor goes to their portal and selects "Grant Catalog", they are met with the requests. Upon clicking inside the requests, they have two options for funding: make a donation and make a grant request. A lot of our donors, like many CF's, are older and may be…

Year over Year w/ Leap Year
We're running into an issue with running year over year financials for February. The system is pulling 02/28/2025 and 02/28/2024, instead of 02/29/2024. We run quite a few comparative reports and we're having to manually manipulate the 2024 column. It would be great if the engineers could fix the coding so the system would pull the month end date, rather than a set date.

Journal entry order: keep in entry/import order
Please STOP the system from resorting journal entries by amount. At the very least, have the all the data necessary in custom reports so the data can be sorted in the entry order for review,
When users create journal entries there is usally is a method to the order they are entered but for some reason the system re-sorts the entries by dollar value before posting. This makes it difficut to review the entries and makes them harder to follow if researching them.

Auto-populate 'Service Area' using the list of Cities/States defined for each Service Area
When a profile is created, auto-populate 'Service Area' from the list of cities/states defined for each service area. This provides consistency when pulling lists based on Service Area.

Rename "Sponsored Org"
We have been instructed by Foundant's support team to populate the "Sponsored Org" field on grants with the Sponsoring Org. Can this field be renamed to "Fiscal Sponsor" so that it aligns with how it is intended to be used. This would also require "Sponsor", which appears on grant reports, to be renamed to "Sponsored Org". If that cannot be implemented across CSuite due to other clients using these fields as they are named, can we be given the ability to rename these fields within our specific CSuite site?

Bulk reassign tasks
We would love the ability to bulk update tasks. I am looking at a report with unique IDs and 150 tasks to manually reassign to a current staff person.
I see this idea was proposed previously and archived, so I'm posting fresh to hopefully gain some new interest in this idea. Thanks!

notes
It would be great if when adding a new note, you could add it to a household as well as individuals within the household. Or add multiple people onto one note.

Fix Must Be A Decimal Number Error
It would be helpful to allow multiple types of entries in the donor portal when a fundholder is requesting a grant. For example, if a fundholder types "$25,000" including a dollar sign and a comma, an error sign comes up ("must be a decimal number".) The fundholder needs to type in 25000 for the grant to go through. Allowing $25,000 would help reduce frustration.
According to the idea I posted previously, this idea was implemented: https://idealab.foundant.com/forums/597718-communitysuite-idea-lab/suggestions/48126044-fix-must-be-a-decimal-number-error. However, the issue is still occurring and when I spoke with the customer service team, they said that the idea hadn't actually been…

Link grant to opportunity
We would like to link grants to opportunities. We have some clients where we are managing a few multi-year grant commitments. These are not through GLM but through a separate agreement. We'd like to use opportunity tasks to collaborate on these, list the beneficiary profiles, and link the actual grant records. This would allow us the flexibility to utilize opportunities to track the work done for these relationships as these donors trust us to steward these specific grants that would not work as a recurring grant series because there is added complexity.
This was a previous archived idea lab idea: …

Two individuals from the household are listed together in a single row
Hi,
Preparing profiles for screening through iWave or WealthEngine (both platforms that provide donor intelligence solutions to help organizations identify potential donors and optimize their fundraising strategies) typically takes about a month.
Why does it take that long? The software requires detailed information for both individuals in a household to be listed in the same row. This includes:
-First name, middle name, last name, nickname, and prefix
-Business details
-Phone numbers (home, mobile, and business)
-Email addresses
In addition to that, they request giving history: total giving, years of giving, number of gifts, last gift amount and date, as well…

Grants request through the Portal that exceed the fund balance and available cash.
The donor submitted grants request through the Portal that exceed the fund balance and available cash.
Currently, there is no setting or hard stop in place to prevent a grant request from exceeding the available cash. When a request is created that surpasses the total available amount, the system displays a warning message indicating this—but it still allows the request to be submitted.
I recommend implementing a control that automatically subtracts the available cash each time a grant is made, ensuring that future requests cannot exceed the remaining balance.

Verify Donations are Linked to a Pledge
We have gift match programs going on most of the time. We need a way to check that incoming donations are all linked to the donors' pledges. Running a full donation report and whittling down to the donors who have made pledges is a time suck. I've tried writing a custom report, but there isn't a sort or field for "Pledge is Linked to Donation" or "Donation is Linked to Pledge."
Please consider adding a "Pledge Linked" column on the Profile/Donor page. The "Pledges" tab only shows that the donor ever made a pledge, not the status of a pledge.

scholarship
When we create a scholarship in CSuite and turn it into a grant the grant description is automatically populated as Fund name :: Student name. We don’t want the student names to be visible in the fundholder portal, which they are if they’re listed in the grant description. Can you create a setting which would only pull in the fund name to the grant description, not the student name?

Recurring Grants - Update Language from "Recurrence" to "Occurrence"
For recurring grants, the language used for the number of grants is confusing. The wording that advisors see when they make a request is "Number of Recurring", and the wording that staff sees is "Max Recurrence." However, in practice, the number in this field will be used for the total number of grants (one initial grant PLUS any recurrences). Can the language be changed to "Total number of grants" and "Max Occurrence" - or something similar that makes it clear that the first grant should be included in the count?
