  1. Batch Charity Check
    I would love to be able to run a batch charity check. Ideally, I should be checking charity status at the time an application is received (prior to bringing to the board for recommendation) and again once payment is being processed. We have to board cycles a year with approx. 150-175 grants per each cycle. Does anyone have any workarounds they've put in place?

  2. It would be helpful to see the amount awarded from the All Open Approvals screen.

    From the Organization Summary page on the Request History tab, is there a way to change the column header "Date" to say "Decision Date", since that is what that column is showing us?

    Finally, it would be helpful if the primary user column were visible on the Organizations page.

  3. We had a lot of problems this year with 3rd party individuals being confused by the fact they received an email from the student and an email from us for the same request. Is there some way to streamline things so that the 3rd party recipient would only receive one email? I would prefer our template email to the student's email, as they often don't include all or the correct information. Or maybe possible to add the students email wording to the start of the auto-generated email? It became even more confusing for students who were requesting documents for multiple…

  5. Many students do not check their emails or voicemails on a regular basis. Some do not even set up their voicemail boxes. Texting is their primary mode of communication. Having the capability of texting messages to the applicant might speed up their response to our requests.

  6. It would be helpful if you could use the batch Close Request function when their are still open follow ups. We terminate students who have submitted their follow for the semester but have to go individually in to the request to close it. Since you can close a request with open follow ups on an individual basis you should be able to do it by batch as well.

  7. There should be a way to indicate an organization is no longer in business. Especially when dealing with multiyear awards.
    organization may go out of business and when the multiyear award is due it appears on the report.

When viewing applications in the Application Evaluation Assigned screen you are able to sort by Organization, Applicant, or Program (which we call Sector-Progam to group like applications by our giving pillars: Arts, Education, Health, Human Services, and Other. Our evaluators like to review in order of Sector-Progam. After completing and saving an evaluation you have two options: Return to Dashboard or Next Pending Evaluation. Returning to Dashboard results in multiple steps to get to the next evaluation, and Next Pending Evaluation defaults to an alpha order by Organization. Now that Foundant GLM is used by so many foundations, perhaps it would be useful for applicants to be able to load documents in something like Shared Documents that they could insert into applications. Such documents could include Annual Reports, Board Members, Current Major Donors, Current Operating Budget, Audit, Letters of Support, Letters from Collaborators. It would be the applicant's responsibility to keep these Shared Documents up to date. Pulling these Shared Documents into an Application could be a time saver for applicants.

  10. Currently, when an Administrator adds comments to the system Admin Comments fields there is a checkbox to show the comments to applicant. If the checkbox is checked for the applicant to view the comments, the Evaluators will not see the comment. If the box is not checked, evaluators will see the comment.

    Ideally, there is another check box that prevents both evaluators and applicants from viewing the comments. It should be an "Admin only" checkbox.

As mentioned previously by Angie in this suggestion (http://idealab.foundant.com/forums/339786-glm-idea-lab/suggestions/12344550-print-packet-option-by-save-and-submit-buttons), applicants aren't really using the print packet option to check for file upload errors or for changes in the text (which sometimes occur after pasting in and saving the application). I like Angie's idea of a button, or possibly a popup reminder ("Are you ready to submit - have you looked at the print packet to see if there were any errors in text or uploads?"). Either way, maybe "Preview" or "Preview Application" would make more sense than "Print Packet" to the applicant.

  12. The process to access Follow Up reports for our board members is certainly cumbersome, and discourages board members from using the online data (read this as I have to produce paper copies of each follow-up). A folder on their Dashboard would be helpful; and at a minimum, it would be useful to have a "Return to Follow Ups Submitted" option, so that they don't have to go all the way back to Requests and Decisions to pull up each report.

  13. It would be great if there was a way to give a report a title, so it is print-ready. Currently, I export it as a pdf and then add the title there. Without Adobe Acrobat Pro, I wouldn't be able to do that, so I would think this is a challenge for those who don't have it.

  14. It would be very helpful if I could print out sent emails from the GMS. My workaround is to copy myself on my email templates but I'd like the ability to go and print out any sent emails, as needed.

  16. It would be helpful to have the option to add another "after Due Date" automatic email to Follow-ups. Right now only "To Assignee 7 days after Due Date" is available and we'd like a "To Assignee 14 days after Due Date" as well.

  17. I would love to see the ability to merge charity check data fields into merge templates. You can do it in reporting, but not merge templates. This would be very helpful for me.

  18. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I would like to be able to add additional contacts to a request, without assigning them a password to log in. We use the cc/bc option a lot in our letters and the only way I can see to add these additional contacts requires me creating them, which them prompts the assignment of a password and them subsequently receiving an email about their account creation. Can there be a way to just add additional contacts that we can choose to merge with documents when we create them?

In the past few months, I've seen a high increase in applicants emailing and calling saying they cannot find the "Administrator Comment" when I revert back to draft, so I logged back in as the applicant to see what the sudden confusion is - it's incredibly hard to find in the applicant view! When I MAKE an administrator comment, there is a blue highlighted strip across the top. When I log in as the applicant, there is just a little vertical bar, with text smaller than regular instructions. A lot of our applicants are elderly, and it's been very time…

  20. As it works now, we can upload documents to an organization or request and applicants upload documents into our letter of inquiry, application and follow-up forms. The downside is that when we go to look for a document, we have to know exactly where it was uploaded.

    It would be amazing to have one place on the Organization Summary page where we can see all uploaded documents for that organization in one place, with columns showing when the document was uploaded, which Project Name it is associated with, which form it is located in, etc. It would also be amazing…
